Who are the Newbies?

Mission Statement: We are God’s beloved children, walking the walk. We are walking in Christ’s road, full of love. We will be together in fellowship and encourage each other to fight the good fight. We will evangelize by sharing what we have learned in our faith communities and also serving God’s people by volunteering in a wide range communities and populations.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know us! We really appreciate you!

The Newbies consist of Althea, Jackie, Marianne, and Priscilla. We are a group of Christ followers who want to glorify God by spreading His good news!

Ephesians 5:1-2, NIV
Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Why are we called the Newbies?
Well, one day, the four of us decided to do something brand spanking new: strawberry picking. None of us had done it before. We were so excited! We picked two buckets of strawberries. Time flew by so quickly that we realized we would miss evening service at First Baptist Church. Jackie, who usually goes to another church in the morning, Meadow Crest, drove with us to First Baptist in order to save time. By the grace of God, we made it safely! (It was a 30 minute drive from the strawberry farm.)

After church, we decided to have dinner. On the way to dinner, all four of us were pumped!! We just kept talking about how AWESOME God is and how He’s strategically worked His way through all of our lives!

Then we decided, “Hey!! This is fun! We should meet every other Sunday! And try something NEW! And go to church together!” Hence the name “NEW”bies.

It’s such a fitting name. Not only are we doing new things or going to new places every other week, we are also quite new in our faith journey! In addition to this, we will also be serving our local community and volunteering with different populations to serve God’s people.

That’s what this blog is about.
